Abstract

Culture and traditions within the framework of the Ukrainian-Bulgarian dialogue are considered. The war accelerated Ukraine's entry into the European cultural space, and at the same time identified certain challenges and requirements. The characteristics of ethnic museums of Ukrainians and Bulgarians are presented. It is determined that museums today perform many functions, and act as an intermediary between the past-present-future. Scientific sources have been analyzed to substantiate the thesis: «a museum is a place of historical, collective memory». Attention is focused on the activities of some museums on the territory of Bulgaria and Ukraine. It is emphasized that modern museums are not only centers for the preservation of the cultural heritage of the people, but are an element of communication between the visitor and artifacts (exhibits) of museums. The difference between ethnic museums of Europe and Ukraine has been revealed.
