The article examines the historical and cultural origins and contemporary trends in the development of costumes for Latin American ballroom dancing, focusing on the plasticity of dance as a factor in form creation and the application of artistic and compositional principles in the creation of women's training clothing. The ergonomic and aesthetic requirements for training costumes are analysed, and the influence of the movement characteristics of dance on the morphology of form and design solutions is investigated. The concept and the author's collection of women's training clothing, which combines functionality, comfort and artistic expressiveness, are presented. The main results demonstrate the principles of adapting stage images to training clothing while maintaining stylistic unity and dynamic expressiveness of form.
The aim of the study is to develop well-founded design solutions for women's training clothing for performing Latin American ballroom dancing programmes, taking into account the specifics of movement, ergonomic parameters and contemporary fashion trends.
The research methodology is based on the use of an analytical method to study historical and contemporary trends in costume design development; morphological analysis to systematise the characteristics of form and decoration; a comparative-typological method to identify analogies between stage and training clothing; empirical methods for conducting surveys and analysing the results obtained to determine the target audience, its needs and possible scenarios for use. Visual and graphic methods were used to develop sketches.
The results of the study outline the principles of training costume design for the Latin American programme based on the plasticity of movement, ergonomic requirements and the artistic and compositional features of the authentic style. An approach to adapting stage solutions to the training context has been formulated through the stylised simplification of the stylistic markers of the Latin American programme image.
The scientific novelty of the work lies in the formation of a comprehensive model for designing training costumes for Latin American ballroom dancing programmes, which combines current stylistic solutions with ergonomic parameters and takes into account functional requirements.
The practical significance of the results obtained lies in the creation of an author's collection of training clothing for performing the Latin American ballroom dance programme, which was presented at the XXV International Competition of Young Designers «Pecherski Kashtany» in the «Special» nomination.
