Abstract

The purpose of the article is to systematize the main theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of the phenomenon of magic in the cultural discourse, as well as to outline the possibilities of their application for the analysis of modern cultural practices and forms of magical thinking.
The methodological basis of the study is an interdisciplinary approach that combines elements of cultural, anthropological, sociological, philosophical and cognitive analysis, taking into account general scientific methods: analysis, systematization, generalization, etc.
The scientific novelty of the study lies in the comprehensive consideration of magic from various theoretical and methodological approaches to the definition of magic in the cultural context.
Conclusions. In modern cultural discourse, magic appears as a multidimensional phenomenon that combines belief, knowledge, symbolism, practice and experience. Analysis through different approaches – evolutionaryintellectual, functional-social, symbolic-structural, critical, cognitive-ontological and practical – shows that magic is not just a remnant of the past, but is dynamically transformed in modern culture.
Practical application. The results of the study can be used in the culturological analysis of modern symbolic and spiritual practices, in training courses on cultural theory and in interdisciplinary studies on the interaction of the rational and the mythical in the modern world.
