UKRAINIAN FOLK SONGS IN THE REPERTOIRE OF SOLOMIYA KRUSHELNYTSKA

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to analyze the Ukrainian folk songs performed by Solomiya Krushelnytska in her
concerts, to note her favorite songs from her native village of Bila, to characterize the assessments of famous Ukrainian
musicologists and singers who attended the singer’s concerts and admired her unsurpassed voice.
Research methodology. The methodological basis of the research is the cultural works of L. Kornii, B. Syuta, L.
Kiyanovska, L. Yarosevych, which consider prominent artistic figures in the context of socio-cultural processes that are
identical with them in the corresponding historical dimension.
Methods. The article uses the following research methods to solve individual issues and tasks. Namely: source studies,
retrospective, historical, cultural, structural and analytical. It is this systematic approach in the application of analytical
methods that will ensure thorough understanding of the figure of S. Krushelnytska as a performer of Ukrainian folk songs.
The scientific novelty of the study is that for the first time, based on the analysis of Ukrainian folk songs
performed by Solomia Krushelnytska, their grouping was generalized at the level of songs from the native village of
Bila, Ternopil District, folk songs arranged by Mykola Lysenko. As well as summarizing the evaluations of the folk
songs performed by the singer, submitted by well-known Ukrainian musicologists and singers.
The practical significance of the study is that its results can be used by scientists and practicing
musicians when performing folk songs both on stage and in solo singing classes.
