SPORTS-AND-LEISURE CENTRES AND RECREATION CHOREOGRAPHY IN MODERN- DAY UKRAINIAN MASS CULTURE
Abstract
The purpose. The purpose of the article is to analyse the activities, training and teaching strategies and methods of the work-out in sports-and-leisure centres due to modern-day Ukrainian mass culture.
Research methodology. The research methodology is based on applying fundamental general scientific methods of cognition – analysis, systematisation and generalisation of information on the theoretical and basics of recreation and leisure studies. There are historical and artistic, culturological approaches, synthesis and descriptive methods to form a holistic view of the phenomenon of mass culture in Ukraine. The comparative method has revealed the peculiarities of the expression of the recreational function of mass culture.
Results. The article has revealed that the activity of Ukrainian sports-and-leisure centres involves psychophysiological, relaxation, social-emotional, aesthetic, communicative and educational function implementation of mass culture in general and active leisure in particular. The analysis has shown that training and teaching techniques in Ukrainian sports-and-leisure centres are aimed at achieving maximum physical activity by combining fitness exercises with popular music and modern choreography, and training methods include achieving recreational and rehabilitation effect – core coordination and «an ecological approach to personality» (mental and physical health maintenance within the social environment).
Novelty. There is the first study of sports-and-leisure centres (including their activities, functions, training and teaching strategies and methods of the work-out) as subjects of the recreational infrastructure of music and dance media culture of modern-day Ukraine.
Practical meaning. The article can be used to study the development of music and dance media culture, recreational choreography as a result of mass culture.
