STAGE RECEPTIONS OF V. VYNNYCHENKO'S WORKS AT THE END OF THE XX – IN THE FIRST TWO DECADES OF THE XXI CENTURY

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to find out the specifics of the interpretation of dramatic and prose works by V. Vynnychenko  in  the  Ukrainian  theater  at  the  end  of  the  XX  –  in  the  first  two  decades  of  the  XXI  century.

The research methodology is based on the application of general scientific methods of analysis and synthesis, as well as a comparative method, which allowed to clarify the specifics of theatrical interpretation of V. Vynnychenko’s works in the late XX – in the first two decades of the XXI century.

The scientific novelty of the obtained results lies in the identification of leading trends in the interpretation of V. Vynnychenko's works in modern Ukrainian theater.

Results and conclusions. Attention is paid to the need to systematize information about the stage receptions of V. Vynnychenko's works at the end of the XX – in the first two decades of the XXI century, which will allow reproducing a holistic objective picture of Ukrainian theater, artists, scenographers and other figures of the modern cultural and artistic process. It is emphasized that the problem of interpretation of V. Vynnychenko's works in the Ukrainian theater at the end of the XX – in the first two decades of the XXI century. very complex and multifaceted, related to the relationship of literature and performing arts to reality, the development of creative trends and traditions, innovation, the specifics of theatrical creativity. Theatrical productions of V. Vynnychenko's works in the interpretation of R. Derzhypilsky (drama «Natus») in Ivano-Frankivsk Drama Theater, A. Zholdak (short story «Moment») on the «small» stage of the theater named after I. Franko, T. Zhyrka (short story «Moment») in the Kyiv Academic Theater Arts Workshop «Constellation». Excerpts from reviews of performances by theater critics and reviews of art critics (G. Veselovska, T. Trykolenko, etc.) are given. It is concluded that dramatic and prose works of V. Vynnychenko, consistent with the cultural and artistic situation of the first third of the twentieth century, entered the cultural present of independent Ukraine, intriguing modern readers and viewers with artistic experiments in human morality, encouraging them to seek truth and harmony in uncomfortable world and developing domestic theatrical art in the stream of use of new art forms. Nowadays, the experiment is actively used and new stage and screen forms are being searched for (derivation of some characters from V. Vynnychenko's works and introduction of others, symbolic details, use of multimedia means, video series, etc.). Interpretation of the writer's works from the point of view of the present is due to the director's concept, acting and costumes of actors, stage design, editing, lighting effects, musical accompaniment, designed to express the psychology of the literary basis.
