Abstract

The article explores the phenomenon of meditativeness in contemporary musical culture as a distinct form of artistic organization of sound material, aimed at intensifying inner contemplation, deep listening, and conscious reception. The relevance of the topic is driven by the growing need for tools of psycho-emotional stabilization and transcendent experience, especially in times of social and global upheaval. Meditative music is considered not only as an aesthetic phenomenon but also as a means of influencing the bodily and emotional state of the individual, capable of creating a space for inner concentration, reflection, and altered states of consciousness. The aim of the study is to identify and comprehend manifestations of meditativeness in contemporary musical art as an aesthetic phenomenon shaped through the interaction between musical text and the listener’s perceptual experience. The author analyzes how meditative compositional strategies contribute to the creation of a unique auditory environment that activates deep psychophysiological processes.
The research methodology includes a theoretical-analytical approach to understanding the impact of meditative music on the human condition, a musicological approach for analyzing its expressive means, and a classificatory approach aimed at systematizing samples based on artistic features and revealing the stylistic diversity of the genre.
This framework allows meditativeness to be viewed not as an isolated style, but as a form of artistic thinking that unites sound, body, and consciousness. Scientific novelty: lies in a comprehensive musicological analysis of meditativeness as an integral quality of musical composition, encompassing compositional strategies, listener reception mechanisms, and digital-media dissemination models. Special attention is given to the psychophysiological effects of meditative music and its positioning within both the contemporary Ukrainian and global musical landscape. Сonclusions: meditative music opens new horizons for the listening experience, where sound becomes a medium of inner dialogue, bodily harmonization, and emotional stillness.
Its ability to create a space of deep presence and transformation of consciousness affirms the growing role of music as a tool for personal development in the context of digital culture.
