Documentary linguistics is an interdisciplinary scientific field that integrates principles of linguistics, document science, and information sciences to provide a comprehensive analysis of the linguistic, structural, and functional characteristics of documents. This article offers an in-depth exploration of the theoretical foundations of the discipline, encompassing concepts such as document text, linguistic standardization, and semantic structure, which enable the consideration of documents as both linguistic and social phenomena. It analyzes the methodological frameworks, including linguistic, semiotic, pragmatic, and content analysis, alongside modern text processing technologies such as corpus linguistics and artificial intelligence methods.
Particular emphasis is placed on the practical applications of documentary linguistics, which span records management, archival practices, jurisprudence, and information systems. The study examines the role of linguistic standardization in creating unified texts that ensure accuracy, clarity, and efficiency in organizational and managerial communication. The impact of digitalization on the discipline9s development is thoroughly explored, highlighting advancements in automated records management, the creation of electronic documents, and the use of intelligent systems.
The article also addresses the challenges of globalization, particularly those related to processing multilingual documents, and the need to adapt to rapid technological changes. It underscores the critical role of documentary linguistics in enhancing information communication within the global information society and outlines its future prospects, including integration with artificial intelligence technologies, the development of international document standards, and the advancement of interdisciplinary research. Recommendations for future research include improving methods for analyzing multilingual texts, preserving contextual information in automated systems, and establishing ethical principles for technology use. The article is intended for researchers, educators, graduate students, and practitioners interested in interdisciplinary approaches to document analysis and their significance in contemporary information processes.
