JEWELERY CULTURE OF UKRAINE IN THE ASPECT OF THE IDEOLOGICAL POLICY OF SOVIET POWER AT THE STAGE OF THE 1930 s.

Abstract

The article highlights the main trends in the development of jewelry culture in the USSR-USSR in the 30's of the twentieth century. from the point of view of the ideological policy of the Soviet government. It is shown that in accordance with the tasks of Bolshevik industrialization and collectivization, the withdrawal of jewelry and products from the population through unequal exchange continued. The author focuses on the activities of the Torgsin association, which was engaged in gold and currency fraud and buying valuables from the Ukrainian population. It is emphasized that the work of the offices of the «Torgsin» network has significantly slowed down the evolution of the jewelry industry. The intelligence revealed the peculiarities of the functioning of the Jewelry Trade, which partly contributed to the activation of the jewelry industry through the establishment of the Kiev Jewelry-Watch and Odessa Jewelry Factories. It is concluded that in general the jewelry culture during the stated period was deprived of the possibility of full-fledged development in the territory of Soviet Ukraine, as a result of the anti-national policy pursued against the Ukrainian population, the victims of communist terror were representatives of the jewelry industry.
