KIEV DOMRA SCHOOL: HISTORICAL ASPECTS OF FORMATION
Abstract
The article analyzes the peculiarities of the development of the Kyiv domra school. The role of the leading figure of M. Gelis, whose activity became the catalyst for the formation of the Kyiv school of playing the domra, was noted. The appearance of professional education in this field contributed to the emergence of a number of performers, conductors and teachers. It is emphasized that in many aspects the Kyiv domra school outstripped schools that existed in other Ukrainian cities. In the Kyiv Conservatory was opened the Department of Folk Instruments and Postgraduate Studies in this specialty for the first time. A great contribution was made to the development of domra performance of such Kyiv figures as N. Komarova, N. Lysenko, N. Belokonev, A. Grigorenko, D. Ostapenko and V. Belous.
