TRANSFORMATION OF SOCIO-CULTURAL FUNCTIONS OF FOLK INSTRUMENTAL ART IN THE HISTORICAL RETROSPECTIVE OF THE XX − BEGINNING XXI CENTURY (on the example of the Northern Black Sea Coast of Ukraine)

Abstract

It is reviewed a development of folk instrumental art of the Northern Black Sea Coast of Ukraine during XX −
beginning of XXI century in the context of a change of its socio-cultural functions in the article. The historical
periodization of the evolution of a given instrumental genre in the region is proposed, its functions are determined
within each period. The conditions of development of folk instrumental art are analyzed. A change of a character of its
socio-cultural functioning is substantiated, and the evolutionary processes are generalized on its basis. It is revealed that
a folk instrumental genre has reflected all the main functions of art within each historical period, but some of them were
a priority in a culture of the Northern Black Sea Coast at certain stages of evolution.
