ACTORS IN ROLES. SKETCHES OF UKRAINIAN ARTISTS OF THE FIRST THIRD OF THE ХХ CENTURY.

Abstract

The article has reviewed the little-studied part of the Ukrainian drawing of the first third of the 20th century consisted of sketches of theater artists in different roles. The study is based on the observation of the artistic legacy of N. Karpovskyi, O. Kryvynska, I. Kulyk, H. Loiko, S. Myronov, P. Moskalenko, M. Nevidomskyi, N. Orlov, Y. Pavlovych, M. Symashkevych, M. Slipchenko, Y. Strukhmanchuk, I. Tverdokhlib, I. Tsybulnik, J. Shpinel, and works of a number of little-known Ukrainian artists from the collection of the Museum of Theater, Music and Cinema of Ukraine. The figurative and stylistic orientation of the works and the peculiarities of the use of drawing materials and techniques have been analyzed. It has been determined that not only theater artists, but also graphic artists and painters, as well as actors, film and stage directors and writers applied for the creation of actors' sketches in roles.
