THE TRADITIONS OF THE UKRAINIAN LITURGY SINGING IN THE MUSICAL COMPOSITIONS OF MODERN COMPOSERS FROM NORTH-AMERICAN EMIGRANT COMMUNITY

Abstract

Ukrainian liturgical culture has always been an important component of national musical culture. Ukrainian
musical art can not be considered a complete one without the great creative achievements of the emigrant composers. The author of the article studies the spiritual artistic activity of the composers Myron Fedoriv, Ihor Sonevytskyy and Roman Gurkо who represent the Western emigrant community. The paper highlights the significance of their music compositions for the national and world choral art.
