Abstract

The article considers the specificity of the personality of Platon Maiboroda in the context of the choral culture of Ukraine. The role of the previous tradition laid down in the works of N. Lysenko, L. Revutsky was determined. The connection with folklore is highlighted, as one of the main features of P. Maiboroda's style. It is noted that the basic principles of the composer’s choral work are interest in the melodic beginning, the use of polyphonic principles for the development of musical material, an appeal to the poetic heritage of T. Shevchenko. The role of the timbre principle in the creation of artistic images and the prevalence of lyric-dramatic imagery with an emphasis on intonation, genetically related to Ukrainian folk song, are emphasized.
