CLASSICAL STYLE IN THE EUROPEAN COSTUME DESIGN: TRADITIONS AND MODERN INTERPRETATIONS
Abstract
The main aspects of the classic style formation and development have been represented in the article, the classic style distinctive features and its expressions in the female European costume design have been identified; specific substiles such as formal office style, Chanel style, and classical sportswear have been distinguished; such basic colors in the classic style as black, gray, white and beige have been accentuated. Special attention in the article has been paid to the fact that fashion is constantly changing, actively moving forward, and therefore the modern classic style in clothes acquires different shapes. Women's classic costume has been represented in a wide range of colors, both of traditional range and other colors set – burgundy, emerald green, sand, indigo. The classic combination of colors in clothes has been highlighted during the analysis of fashion collections of the twenty-first century. It should be noted that such classic colors as black, gray, white, and beige match well, and a small blend of bright or pastel shades is allowed.
Classic-style women's clothes are much more diverse unlike men's wardrobe.
