Abstract

The articlefocusesontheculturalphenomenonofglorification, reveals the mysterious and glorious specifics of  J. Massne's opera «The Juggler of Our Lady» and the peculiarities of its genre-intonational transformation. The significant influence of the Christian mystery in the genre-style specificity of the French musical theater of the early twentieth century. Not only the spiritual and aesthetic attitudes of the composer's creativity, but also his epoch, marked by the quest for French "Catholic revival", connected with the early medieval spiritual and cultural-historical traditions of the «undivided Church» era, were determined, which formed the basis of the Liturgical Movement in France.
