BELLS AND BELLING IN LIVES OF POKUTTIA RESIDANCES

Abstract

Using a wide range of cources, the existence of the bells and the functions of their music in lives of Pokuttia
inhabitants are outlined. In addition to its church using before,during and after Liturgies, these unique instruments had an important role in secular life. The aspiration of parishioners to have a set of expensive bells at all times in shown.
The unique sinking monuments of foundry on the territory of the region were mentioned. Specificity of the existence of bells and their sounds in different situations, the creativity of it's writers, masters of visual arts, composers was widely echoed in folk culture of Pokuttia.
